Turtling one night, on the night of the 5th of July, one huge Green turtle came up to nest and Armando, the coordinator of the turlte program asked me to tag her. It was my first experience at tagging a turtle (which is a bit like doing a piercing). But everything went well. We then sat beside her and I started thinking about my younger son since he was born on the 5th, and thought that this would be a great birthday present: an adoption certificate of this specific turtle under his name. Et voila!! It turned out to be a night filled with emotion and good feelings. This whole experience of turtling has brought me to consider my real values in life: My family, my friends, mother earth, and everything we can possibly do to save her and our children.
