Volunteer Journal

One night we were walking down the beach and spotted some Loggerhead tracks. I followed them and found an unmarked nest. I had to be sure the eggs were there to mark it. Armando told us to lay down in the sand and showed us where to dig and how to do it. Everyone started digging carefully and suddenly I felt something soft. My heart began to race. I found the eggs! It was the first time I did something like that. Later on, I became quite the expert in finding nests, and I'm very proud of that.
